A need to meditate and ground myself come over me this morning unexpectedly,it prompted me to retreat from the company of my relatives and friends.I felt as if a great weight has been lifted from my shoulders and I finaly found a suitably peaceful place in which I focused my attention inward. While reflecting upon the choices I have made in the distant and not so distant past,I surprised to discover that my efforts to delve deeply into my inner self are more successful than usual today and that I can peel back layers of my psyche I once thought permanently closed. As I peeled through the layers of my mind today, I've discovered thoughts,feelings, and observations that have made me who I am.
~We can learn much about ourselves when we display a willingness to look beyond the surface realm of our conscious minds in order to delve into the deeper reaches of our souls. Many people shy away from intense, focused reflection because they fear that what they discover within themselves will prove to be negative. However, all we unearth during potent bouts of introspection is a vital part of who we are and reflective of what we have lived through in the past. Though we may choose to discard a portion of what we find, we become more conscious for having examined it. With understanding comes awareness, and contemplation is the vessel we use to find both
